Role Overview
We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our inpatient acute therapies team at the Peter Hodgkinson Centre in Lincoln. The role is predominantly based on Castle Ward, which provides assessment and treatment for female adults of working age who are acutely unwell, as part of inpatient mental health services.
Responsibilities
As a valued team member, you will work with service users, the wider therapies and multidisciplinary team to support individuals with acute mental health needs. Your compassionate and collaborative approach will play a key part in people’s recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient occupational therapy interventions through a mixture of groups and 1:1 working, undertaking activities such as art, cooking, sensory work and gardening in a safe, person‑centred way.
The role involves planning and implementing therapeutic activities appropriate to the needs, choices and interests of individuals in our care, under the supervision and guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist within an acute inpatient mental health environment. You will also work with the in‑house multidisciplinary team throughout the individual’s journey.
Benefits
We offer flexible working options and a wide range of training and promotion opportunities in all professions. We support and celebrate diversity, have active staff networks, and are always looking for ways to support our staff.
