Director of Sales
Donnington Valley Group is seeking an experienced, driven and commercially minded Director of Sales to join their fantastic team. This is an exciting time with investment underway, along with a rebranding project to elevate the previous proposition. The group consists of Donnington Valley Hotel & Spa, The Kingfisher Pub & Rooms, The Post Barn, Deanwood Park and The Vineyard Cellars.

As the Director of Sales, you will employ your proven sales expertise, outstanding communication skills and wealth of fresh ideas to drive business to the hotel actively. This role does require the candidate to be based onsite at head office in Newbury two to three days a week, with the ability to travel around the country being an essential part of the role.
As Director of Sales your key responsibilities include:
* Proactively driving new business into the two hotels and top event venue
* Management and development of the Business Development team
* Driving and co-ordinating all sales activity to maximise revenue and minimise loss from existing accounts at hotel level, national and international level
* Targeting and contracting new direct, consortia and agency business as required and in line with the hotel objectives for the domestic and international markets
* Developing and implementing strategic commercial plans to source, drive and grow revenue across MICE and corporate transient business, constantly monitoring results and adjusting strategies and activities to make sure objectives and targets are met
* Managing a portfolio of existing and prospect accounts, taking the lead on rate negotiations and account management activities, whilst maximising market share
* Negotiating and developing local partnership and sponsorship agreements to build long lasting, profitable collaborations
* Participation in weekly revenue meetings to assist with forecasting business mix, revenues
* Conducting weekly appointments to see agents and clients
* Representing the group at local networking and trade show events

Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
* A minimum of ten years corporate sales experience is essential
* Current experience and contacts within MICE markets are required
* A proven track record of successful account management and business development
* A self-motivated, proactive and can-do proactive attitude is required
* Tenacious, hungry and accountable. Ready to go to the next level in your career
* This role is for a go-getter not an account manager
* Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills
* Must be eligible to work in the UK
