Responsibilities What You Will Do: Our dedicated Reinstatement Operative will carry out high-quality reinstatement works following civil excavation for telecoms blockage clearance. The role involves restoring footways and carriageways to their original condition using various materials and methods in compliance with local authority and client standards. Perform backfilling and reinstatement of footways, carriageways, and verges to the required specification after duct clearance or civils works. Use appropriate materials (asphalt, tarmac, concrete, cold-lay, hot-lay, etc.) depending on the surface. Ensure compliance with NRSWA regulations and local authority reinstatement guidelines. Operate hand tools and reinstatement equipment (e.g., whacker plate, roller, saw) safely and effectively. Complete jobs in a clean and professional manner, minimizing disruption to the public. Record reinstatement types, measures, and photographic evidence for job pack completion. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping on-site and within work vehicles. Support civils teams with minor excavation, site setup, or barrier management when needed. Work safely in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Skills required What You Will Need: Proven experience in reinstatement for utilities or telecoms civil engineering works. Strong knowledge of reinstatement techniques for various surface types. Valid Street Works (NRSWA) Operative card (Units LA, O1¿O9). CSCS card (appropriate for highways/civils). Familiarity with telecoms environments and ducting reinstatement. Ability to work independently and as part of a civils team. Physically fit and capable of manual labour in all weather conditions. Full UK Driving License (essential; towing and 7.5tn preferred). Educational Requirements Essential Accreditation's NRSWA Operative (Units LA, O1 O9). Essential for highway works and reinstatement compliance. CSCS Relevant Construction Skills Certification Scheme card. SA002 Underground Safety - Ensures safety while working in and around telecoms ducts. SA006 Safe Working in Civils - Relevant to BT/Openreach network environments. SA022 Track and Locate Underground Services First Aid at Work Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW or FAW). Manual Handling Safe lifting and carrying practices. Abrasive Wheels For use of cutting tools in reinstatement. CAT & Genny Safe location of underground services. Desirable Previous experience on telecoms contracts NPORS/CPCS tickets for plant machinery (e.g., roller, dumper). Experience working with hot-lay tarmac and reinstatement quality control.
