Operations Manager (Diesel Generators)

Please Read Carefully: This position is open to applications from Ex-Genset Engineers, Service/Operations Coordinators, Service/Operations Managers, Engineering Managers etc. To be considered for this role you MUST have a background working in a technical role maintaining Diesel Generators. This is not a Distribution/Logistics role.
A growing engineering services business is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee three busy regional depots located across Bristol, South London and Cornwall.
Reporting into senior leadership, the Operations Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day operational performance of multiple depots, ensuring the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of ENGINEERING services across people, projects and processes. This role will play a key part in supporting continued business growth and operational improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Full operational oversight of three regional depots

Leading, mentoring and supporting depot managers and operational teams
*
Ensuring consistent service delivery aligned with safety, quality and performance standards
*
Managing workload planning, resource allocation and operational scheduling
*
Driving health and safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
*
Managing employee and subcontractor performance and supplier relationships
*
Monitoring KPIs, budgets and operational performance metrics
*
Supporting business growth through operational efficiency and process improvement
Skills & Experience
*
Must Have: Proven experience within an Operations Manager, Operations Coordinator or Service Management role
*
Must Have: Background within backup, standby, temporary or critical power generation environments
*
Must Have: Strong technical engineering background with hands-on diesel generator maintenance experience
*
Demonstrated leadership experience across multiple operational sites
*
Strong understanding of health and safety compliance and operational best practice
*
Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
*
Willingness to travel regularly between regional locations
*
Must Have: Full UK driving licence required
*
Must Have: Right to work in the UK essential
*
Ability to pass background and security checks
Salary & Benefits
*
£45,000 - £60,000 DOE
*
Up to £500 per month car allowance
*
22 days holiday (rising to 25 days after year one) plus BHs
