A client within the Public Sector based in the West Midland is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Disrepair team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.The role Key purpose of the role is to deliver high-quality services in line with statutory and operational requirements, supporting the team with day-to-day responsibilities and contributing to the efficient running of the service.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Conducting inspections, assessments, or other service-related tasks in line with regulations and best practicePreparing reports, maintaining accurate records, and updating relevant systems
* Collaborating with colleagues, stakeholders, and service users to deliver service objectives
* Manage and deliver housing maintenance and capital works.
* Conduct inspections (void and tenanted), prepare schedules of work, and supervise contractors.
The CandidateTo be considered for this role you will require
* Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in building/surveying environments.
* Understanding of housing maintenance, building construction, contracts, and property compliance.
* Experience preparing specifications, schedules of work, and managing contractor performance.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
* Relevant certifications in H&S, asbestos, CDM.
* Good IT literacy, particularly with housing management systems and Microsoft Office.
* Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
