We are seeking an experienced Business Change Project Manager to join our PFI Handback Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across Mitie's Healthcare, Local Government and Education Sectors within our Technical Service Support function. This role is home-based with occasional site visits across UK.
This is a hands-on project management role where you will take ownership of shaping contract expiry planning and demobilisation projects and ensuring successful delivery through your project management expertise. Working closely with the Head of Delivery and other Project Managers and Operations team members, you will manage multiple projects end-to-end, driving successful outcomes within time, cost, and quality parameters.
What are the key responsibilities?
1. Engage with business teams and SMEs to tailor contract Handback planning guides to meet specific contractual requirements.
2. Coordinate project resources to maintain focus and ensure task completion.
3. Proactively manage project risks, perform root cause analysis, and identify mitigation strategies to drive continuous improvement.
4. Oversee change and transition management processes, including demobilisation, while managing multiple projects efficiently.
5. Track tasks, deliverables, and ensure effective decision-making and escalation points within the Three Lines of Defence (3LoD) framework.
6. Communicate project updates clearly and effectively to internal and external teams and stakeholders.
7. Work closely with Senior Leadership Teams to ensure accountability and successful project delivery.
What are we looking for?
8. Strong experience delivering business change or transformation projects
9. Ability to plan, schedule and manage full project lifecycles, including governance and quality assurance
10. Good understanding of PMO frameworks, governance structures, and reporting standards
11. Experience operating within complex, matrix-managed environments
12. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams
13. Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools
14. Excellent organisational, self-management, and problem-solving skills
15. Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead discussions across varied business functions
16. High attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy
