The Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our manufacturing and engineering operations and drive continued growth. You will take overall responsibility for manufacturing performance, ensuring production efficiency, quality, and compliance while developing a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Key responsibilities include:
* Overseeing production operations and the site overall to maximise efficiency, throughput, quality and housekeeping.
* Implementing and sustaining manufacturing excellence standards such as 5S and continuous improvement frameworks and fostering excellent housekeeping and quality standards and practices.
* Leading and motivating our manufacturing teams, building capability, and fostering a positive, proactive culture.
* Ensuring safe, compliant, and sustainable operations in line with industry and company standards.
* Management, day-to-day operation and detailed understanding of our SCADA/HMI systems, and robotics within powder and packing processes.
* Management of engineering team with a heavy focus on preventative proactive actions to minimise responsive issues wherever possible, including liaison with support and infrastructure partners.
* Provide clear, accountable and transparent performance metrics to the Board of Directors aligned with actions to provide improvements where necessary.
* Collaborating with the leadership team to align operations with business objectives.
About You
We're looking for a proven leader with:
* A minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in leading manufacturing/plant engineering with progressive leadership responsibilities, with a background in a similar non-corporate large SME.
* Strong experience in SCADA systems, robotic packing technologies, and HMI systems together with appropriate qualifications/knowledge of plant engineering.
* A track record of delivering measurable improvements in production efficiency in a large SME or similar environment.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, combining strategic oversight with a hands-on approach.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing standards and best practices.
* A positive, resilient, and "can-do" approach to problem-solving and leadership.
