The Innovation Delivery Group (IDG) is seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work on a variety of projects across the IDG portfolio and work closely with colleagues from across Projects and Programme Delivery.
Responsibilities
* Managing the whole life project delivery process for our client sponsors.
* Applying strong commercial acumen in project, contract, and risk management, ensuring delivery of high-quality projects to time and budget.
* Working collaboratively with our suppliers, client representatives, technical specialists, and other partners to deliver successful outcomes.
* Monitoring and forecasting expenditure, ensuring compliance with EA guidance.
Experience / Skills Required
* Essential: Experience in project and contract management, ideally within engineering, construction and/or flood & coastal risk management.
* A degree (or equivalent experience) in a related discipline.
* A track record of delivering results on technically challenging projects through coordination of a technical team.
* Commercial experience including understanding of different procurement approaches and contract management.
* Experience of project financial management and cost forecasting.
* Strong knowledge and experience Microsoft applications, including Excel and (preferably) Project.
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
* Experience of report writing including business cases.
* Risk Management experience.
* Health and Safety competence.
* Desirable: Working towards chartered membership of a professional body such as ICE, CIWEM or APMP is desirable.
* Experience of NEC contracts.
* CDM X63 certification.
* Experience of preparing Scope of Services for appraisal contracts, detailed design commissions and construction contract awards.
