Contract: 37 hours / Permanent Variable / Term Time only

Salary: TPAT Point 4 - £12.26 per hour

Helston Day Nursery, part of Helston Community College, are looking for a passionate Nursery Assistant to join our warm, supportive, and dedicated team from September 2025.
At our well-established nursery, we pride ourselves on creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. Our experienced team works closely with families to ensure every child enjoys a rich, varied, and meaningful early years’ experience.
What You’ll Do:
•Provide high-quality care and learning experiences for children aged 0 – 5;
•Plan and deliver fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities;
•Support children’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development;
•Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support each child’s unique journey;
•Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and stimulating environment
We would love to hear from you if you:
•Hold a recognised Early Years and Childcare qualification [or equivalent] / Level 2 or above
•Are creative, motivated, and genuinely passionate about working with children;
•Have experience in early years settings and understand the importance of play-based learning;
•Are a great communicator and team player;
•Have an interest in Special Educational Needs [SEN[ - this is a bonus, not a requirement!

Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a Safeguarding Self-Declaration Form as part of their interview process. Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) application as part of their pre-employment administration. The amendments to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) provide that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain convictions and cautions are considered ‘protected’. This means that they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. Other pre-employment checks will include receipt of two satisfactory references, evidence of right to work in the UK, proof of any relevant qualifications and completion of a health assessment questionnaire.
