About Danes Camp & The Parks Medical Centre

Danes Camp & The parks Medical Centre serves a diverse and growing patient population and is proud to be at the heart of the local community. Our team includes experienced GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacists, paramedics, and an excellent administrative and reception team who work cohesively to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Clinical and administrative systems are well established, allowing our clinicians to work efficiently and safely. We are continually reviewing our processes to reduce unnecessary workload and promote sustainable working practices.

Our PCN and Practice teams have positive and supportive working relationships, and we have a strong multi-disciplinary ARRS team which includes Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, Paramedics, Health and Wellbeing Coaches, an FCP and GP assistants.


Main duties of the job

As a Salaried GP employed under Parkwood PCN at Danes Camp & The Parks Medical Centre, you may be required to work at any one of our 6 sites:

Rillwood

Grange Park

Blisworth

Roade

Hanslope

You will play a key role in delivering comprehensive primary care services to our patients. Working 8 sessions per week with the sessional rate of pay of £11,000k per session per annum.

You will be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).

Duties

Your responsibilities will include:

* Providing high-quality, evidence-based medical care to patients
* Managing a varied caseload of acute, chronic, and preventative care
* Undertaking telephone and face-to-face consultations
* Contributing to the ongoing development of clinical services
* Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team
* Participating in clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement activity
* Supporting continuity of care and patient safety initiatives


About us

We are seeking a GP to support our PCN and practices. The successful applicant will be expected to work across more than one practice and should be capable of independent travel, including having business insurance on your vehicle, and the ability to work flexibly to meet PCN and practice needs. The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all patients.

As of May 2026,GPs employed under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) do not have to be newly qualified. The restriction limiting ARRS GP roles to those within two years of qualification was removed for the 2026/27 contract, allowing for the recruitment of experienced GPs.


Job responsibilities

As a Salaried GP, you will provide autonomous care for our patients presenting with undifferentiated presentations. You will demonstrate safe clinical decision making and provide expert care by undertaking initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care, including appropriate follow-ups.

Working with other GPS, Nurses and Clinical team within the partnership you will continually review and evaluate services and work with the management team in implementation of change.

Overview of Responsibilities

Clinical

* Provide clinical care to our patient; assessment and management of patients by means of telephone triage and clinic appointments.
* Use advanced skills and expert knowledge to assess the physical and psycho social needs of patients with undifferentiated primary care conditions including minor illness and instigating therapeutic treatments based on best available evidence to improve health outcomes.
* Use advanced skills and expert knowledge to make comprehensive and focussed assessments, independently and proactively managing care of the patients.
* Promote patient independence and self-care where appropriate
* Support and work cohesively in a team with other GPs/ANPs and ACPs working in the new model of care settings, including providing oversight and mentorship for more junior colleagues.
* Review pathology results to ensure appropriate treatment and care
* Support and lead the practices for the delivery of the Quality and Outcomes Framework and NHS England/ICB/Federation Contracts

Regulatory

* Respond to complaints and clinical incidents/significant events as appropriate to ensure robust systems are in place for improving practice through joint learning.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional and legal standards.
* Undertake at least one clinical audit a year. Evaluate data and present findings to the Practice Clinical team. Implement changes where appropriate.
* Adhere to the employing practice Policies and Procedures including Infection Control, Health and Safety, and safeguarding. Ensure all mandatory training is completed in a timely manner.
* All staff must be familiar with and actively promote the practices Equal Opportunities Policy at all times.
* All staff who have access to personal data will be aware of their responsibilities under UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 and will abide by the principles of that legislation.

Personal / Professional Development

* Maintain own personal/professional development plan and portfolio thereby meeting the requirements for revalidation through appraisal of own performance.
* Adhere to the annual appraisal process and revalidation requirements.
* Work at all times within the GMC Code of Professional Conduct.
* Provide Mentorship and training of new recruits or students as and when required.
* Participate in the Practice Performance Review process.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* On the performers list register for Northamptonshire
* Extensive clinical experience in primary care
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Post registration qualification in relevant areas
* Teaching qualification
* Recent attendance on a leadership skills development programme


Experience

* In depth knowledge base in the management of patients with chronic illness and minor illness
* Ability to maintain and monitor high standards of evidence based care
* Ability to direct and co-ordinate care working autonomously and collaboratively
* Understanding of clinical governance issues
* Evidence of improving the patient's experience
* Evidence of leading a service project at practice level
* Undertaking research or involvement in clinical research programmes
* Experience in writing clinical policies and protocols
