We require a Carbon Performance Lead to deliver impactful carbon awareness and performance to reduce carbon emissions across the Environment Agency’s flood and coastal risk management schemes. This role sits in Projects & Programme Delivery (PPD) and is a prominent leadership position within our integrated project teams. The role holder will provide strong sustainability leadership to influence senior leaders to prioritise carbon reduction across their programme of construction works. They will also identify specific carbon reduction actions annually and subsequently coordinate multiple technical specialists and project managers to ensure the delivery of such actions. In addition, the role holder will maximise the reduction of carbon by upskilling and empowering the integrated delivery team and its supply chain, to ensure best practice carbon management and thinking are adopted at every opportunity. The role holder will also require strong commercial awareness and manage a financial budget to deliver the above tasks. Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
