We’re growing our Ophthalmology nursing team and have an exciting opportunity for 2 RVN’s keen to develop their nursing career and specialise. The successful candidate/s will work as part of the surgery ward team in our friendly multidisciplinary referral hospital. Working as part of a team of specialist clinicians, residents, interns, RVNs and Patient Care Assistants you will be involved in a range of interesting and challenging ophthalmological cases whilst having exposure to a variety of other surgical conditions covering orthopaedic and soft tissue. Your role will include:
* Assist our ophthalmology clinicians in providing a high standard of patient care pre and post operatively
* Assist with diagnostic procedures for outpatients and hospitalised cases with the opportunity to follow cases through
* Assist on clinics to include hospital admissions, discharges, and patient updates
* Provide excellent nursing care for patients within all areas of the surgery ward
* Client communication, including nurse lead discharge and re-examination appointments
* Contributing to the training and development of student vets and nurses on clinical rotations
This is a full-time position working 35 hours per week, a combination of 4 x 8.75hr days and some 7hr days on a rota, with 1:4 weekends and occasional night work. Referral nursing experience, although advantageous, is not required as full specialist training and support will be provided. We offer a generous reward package and benefits including:
