Job Summary
As a Front‑End Engineer you will develop innovative, engaging user interfaces for our digital products, ensuring alignment with Monterosa's overall goals. You will use front‑end technologies, responsive design, and advanced tooling to create high‑quality, user‑centric experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* User Interface Development: Design and develop intuitive, responsive UIs using React and other front‑end technologies. Ensure the UI meets design specifications and provides an optimal user experience across devices and screen sizes.
* Integration with Backend Services: Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate front‑end interfaces with backend APIs for data communication, authentication, and error handling, delivering a cohesive user experience.
* Performance Optimisation: Implement code‑splitting, lazy‑loading, caching, and network optimisation to improve speed and efficiency. Profile and analyse performance bottlenecks to enhance responsiveness.
* Code Quality and Maintenance: Write clean, maintainable code that follows industry best practices and coding standards. Refactor and optimise the existing codebase, conduct code reviews, and collaborate with the team to ensure code quality.
* Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay updated with the latest front‑end technologies, trends, and best practices. Experiment with new tools and techniques, mentor junior team members, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
About You
You are a seasoned Frontend Developer with expertise in React.js, TypeScript, and modern frontend technologies and have a strong eye for detail. You build high‑performance, scalable, and maintainable web applications.
You have experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress and understand CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and developer containerisation with Docker.
Collaboration with designers, backend developers, and stakeholders is a priority, and you enjoy creating seamless digital experiences.
Qualifications
Core React & Frontend Development
* Strong understanding of React fundamentals, including JSX, Virtual DOM, and component‑based architecture.
* Experience with responsive design techniques and tools.
* Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (Flexbox, Grid), and modern CSS frameworks such as Tailwind CSS, Styled Components, or Material‑UI.
* Hands‑on experience with TypeScript for type safety and scalable frontend architecture.
State Management & API Integration
* Deep knowledge of React state management solutions such as Redux, Redux‑Saga, Zustand, or React Query.
* Experience integrating RESTful APIs and GraphQL, including authentication, error handling, and security considerations.
Performance Optimisation & Tooling
* Expertise in frontend performance optimisation techniques, including code splitting, lazy loading, memoisation, and caching.
* Familiarity with build tools such as Webpack, ESLint, Prettier, Vite, or ESBuild to improve development workflows.
* Ability to diagnose and resolve frontend performance bottlenecks efficiently.
