Overview
Court Usher - Willesden Magistrates' Court (HMCTS). This is a full-time, temporary role based primarily at Willesden Magistrates' Court, with occasional duties at Uxbridge and Ealing Magistrates' Courts. Contract: 6 months (with potential extension). Salary: £14.75 per hour (plus holiday entitlement and pension scheme). Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (some flexibility required).
Location: Primarily based at Willesden Magistrates' Court, with potential duties at Ealing and Uxbridge Magistrates' Courts for administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and manage daily court lists, ensuring accuracy.
* Call parties into the courtroom as directed and maintain smooth case flow.
* Keep court users informed of estimated timings and case progress.
* Liaise with legal representatives, interpreters, and support services.
* Assist with courtroom setup and ensure documents are in place.
* Support administrative tasks such as post opening, case entry, and handling telephone/counter queries.
* Provide excellent customer service to all court users.
Skills & Experience
* Professionalism: Ability to stay calm and proactive in a busy environment.
* Organisation: Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
* Communication: Clear, confident, and professional both in writing and face-to-face. Public speaking required.
* Self-Motivation: Able to work independently with initiative.
* Administration: Previous experience in admin or data entry is desirable.

* A DBS check is required (processed by us).
