This position is open to Newly Qualified Social Worker's (NQSW) with relevant experience in Mental Health. The starting salary for NQSW's is £34,902 per annum, rising to £37,185 per annum upon successful completion of the ASYE programme.
The Team
We are a committed team working with adults aged 65 years plus and their carers diagnosed with a mental illness such as dementia, in both community and inpatient settings.
Our team collaborates with inpatient wards, Dementia and Frailty Services, and Social Care teams, managing ongoing support and reablement for adults with mental health needs. You will support adults from initial assessment through to reviewing their social care goals, promoting independence and opportunities.
This role covers Colchester and Tendring, with a mix of home, office, and community-based work. Candidates should be within reasonable commuting distance, as emergency visits may be required.
About the Role
You will support adults with complex social needs, aiming to maximize their independence. Responsibilities include managing caseloads, assessing risks, and providing interventions through direct work and reviews, ensuring safeguarding. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, sharing knowledge and providing expert advice.
This role promotes innovative, person-centered, and partnership working with adults, carers, and other services to support mental health and well-being.
About You
You should be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England, with significant experience in mental health. You should understand current legislation and regulations, and have experience chairing meetings with clients, families, and professionals. Building strong relationships with partner agencies and the community is essential.
Additional requirements include:
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Understanding of financial aspects of care packages
* Ability to make clear decisions and manage risks
A driving license and access to a vehicle are essential due to travel requirements.
