Mako Product Specialist
Provide clinical product support to all end users and offer on-site guidance during surgical procedures. Provide training, ongoing in-services, and customer education to assigned accounts. Offer feedback on product design to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.
1. Train surgeons and operating room staff on the operation of the company's robotic arm applications, associated equipment, and instruments to ensure optimal placement and precision.
2. Use proprietary software to prepare pre-operative CT scans for the company's RIO/Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System, assisting surgeons in preoperative implant planning, sizing, and positioning.
3. Prepare detailed reports and metrics for management, supervisors, and the regulatory department, including case reviews, services performed, and recommendations for product, documentation, and methodology improvements.
4. Maintain and control inventories of local MAKO consigned equipment, instruments, implants, and disposables; process sales orders; and provide forecast input to the District Sales Manager.
5. Support company road-show demonstrations and 'Showsite' visits to showcase product clinical value to potential customers.
6. Train physicians and hospital personnel, including OR staff, radiology, and sterile processing teams, on the use of the RIO System, accessories, disposables, and implants.
7. Provide prompt and accurate complaint reports following MAKO’s quality system requirements.
8. Resolve product issues for customers efficiently.
9. Provide case coverage at unassigned accounts as needed.
10. Assist in developing and executing sales plans and increasing RIO system utilization by expanding volume with current and potential surgeons.
11. Promote the clinical benefits of the products and build strong relationships with key surgeons and OR staff at targeted accounts.
12. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to enhance public awareness of the products.
13. Obtain purchase orders for products used during surgeries and track consigned inventories.
14. Partner with cross-functional teams to foster account growth and increase case volume.
Qualifications
* High School diploma; Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related technical field preferred.
* Proficiency in office technology, including ERP systems, Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word.
* Preferably 2+ years of experience in sales and/or a technical environment within the medical, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry.
* Knowledge of customer service principles and business administrative procedures.
* Strong problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to analyze written specifications and assist customers in product selection to ensure compliance.
* Attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
