Murphy is recruiting for an Assistant Buyer (Facilities Procurement) to work with the Murphy Facilities Procurement team at Stone Cross (WA3 3JD) on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

Role Overview:
The Assistant Buyer will assist in providing procurement functions within facilities, ensuring best-in-class service and safety for staff.
A typical day includes:
* Supporting the Facilities Procurement team with orders, contracts, and supplier performance monitoring, working alongside our Facilities Help Desk.
* Ensuring compliance with procurement processes, procedures, and ethics.
* Providing value-for-money procurement recommendations.
* Ensuring contract arrangements and package details are comprehensive and protect the business.
* Locating suppliers and sourcing new providers via various media and internet trade catalogues.
* Preparing and sending purchase orders to suppliers and requisition originators.
* Responding to inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
* Contacting suppliers to ensure timely delivery and mitigate shortages or missed deliveries.
* Maintaining procurement files and monitoring requisitions, contracts, and orders.
* Monitoring supplier performance evaluations.
* Assessing and onboarding new supply chain members to meet demand.
* Monitoring market trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Engaging with the wider facilities team, including senior management and key stakeholders, potentially involving travel to different offices.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience in facilities management procurement or a similar background.
* Exposure to subcontracting processes.
