Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation and service. Responsibilities
* Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
* Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils promptly.
* Ensure all kitchen areas are kept tidy and organised throughout service.
* Support chefs during busy periods by helping with basic cooking tasks as required.
* Assist with the storage of food items and ensure proper stock rotation to minimise waste.
* Help set up and clear down dining areas as needed, contributing to an excellent guest experience.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with food hygiene standards at all times.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential.
* Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is advantageous.
* A passion for hospitality and a willingness to learn about culinary practices.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining cleanliness standards.
