Your Role at impact.com:
As the Segment Manager Intern you will own a specific publisher segment or brand vertical and become its in‑house expert. You will build the data foundation, refine the pitch, identify the highest‑impact publisher and brand opportunities, and join client‑facing calls alongside our Partnerships and Customer Success teams. This is an MBA‑level associate role with real, P&L‑adjacent outcomes against a GTV Book/Opportunity. This is a 3‑month hybrid internship.
What You’ll Do:
* Market Mapping & Intelligence: Analyze the publisher and brand landscape; build competitive briefs identifying product, data, and marketplace gaps.
* Enablement & GTM: Create and update essential segment toolkits, including pitch kits, objection‑handling playbooks, and ideal partner profiles.
Cross-Functional Execution
* Go-To-Market & Scale: Develop and execute comprehensive GTM plans, defining timelines, milestones, budget needs, and required product features.
* Subject Matter Expertise: Join prospect/client calls as the segment expert and brief leadership via monthly updates and Quarterly Segment Memos.
Data & Performance Reporting
* Health & Performance Tracking: Monitor segment health (GTV, pacing, risk) and partner with FP&A to manage target-setting and proactively diagnose pacing risks.
* Insights & Case Studies: Analyze data to establish partner best practices and build compelling case studies showcasing successful brands.
What You Bring:
* Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a top‑tier MBA program.
* An undergraduate degree in a quantitative or technical field is preferred: Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Quantitative Economics, or similar.
* 3+ years of pre‑MBA full‑time experience in management consulting (MBB / Tier 1), investment banking, growth‑stage tech, strategy at a marketplace or a commercial role at a high‑growth start‑up or affiliate industry experience.
* Communicates with the clarity of a strategist and the energy of a salesperson; comfortable owning a room of senior stakeholders.
* Comfortable working with data — you can dig into the numbers, spot the story they’re telling, and turn analysis into a clear, decision‑ready insight.
Strongly Preferred:
* Demonstrated commercial instinct — you have carried a quota, owned a revenue line, or directly contributed to revenue outcomes you can quantify.
* Familiarity with affiliate, performance marketing, creator marketing, or marketplace dynamics.
