GFL Environmental is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Surrey, BC!
The Job:
The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of the Company’s transportation requirements and patterns. They will review and process day-to-day operations, evaluate and recommend equipment needs, and plan and schedule appropriate service lines to maintain a cost-effective balance between customer service and the cost of service. They will ensure compliance with all government related programs specific to mode and direction of related haulage.

Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and optimize day-to-day operations, including transportation and service planning.
* Monitor and maintain cost-effective operations while prioritizing excellent customer service.
* Communicate and coordinate with dispatch, drivers, and other departments for efficient scheduling and service delivery.
* Conduct regular driver performance reviews and organize training to ensure safety and compliance.
* Investigate and manage accidents and incidents, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
* Organize and approve driver vacation requests while balancing operational needs.
* Provide leadership and support to product line personnel, including recruitment and performance management.
Requirements:
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
* 2-3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in waste management or transportation
* Familiarity with WHMIS, the Highway Traffic Act, and safety regulations
* Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) for managing data and reports.
* Flexibility to work varied hours and travel as needed.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
* Proactive approach to promoting safety and preventing accidents.
* Skilled in investigating incidents and preparing required documentation.
* Capable of organizing safety meetings and routine route observations
