Clinical Specialist OT – Operational Lead
An exciting opportunity for an experienced and skilled clinician to join the Paediatric Occupational Therapy team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role requires an autonomous practitioner with experience managing a specialist caseload, providing clinical support and advice to junior staff, and delivering individualised assessment and treatment across the county and occasionally out‑of‑county, both face‑to‑face and virtually.
Key Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day operational management of the paediatric OT team, reporting to AHP Therapy Leads.
* Lead the Upper limb/neuro clinic.
* Manage in‑patient and out‑patient paediatric caseloads.
* Train and develop junior staff.
NICU OT – Specialist Leadership
Provide specialist assessment and Occupational Therapy management to support the neuro‑development of pre‑term infants within the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), working closely with the NICU multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities – NICU OT
* Conduct comprehensive assessment using investigative and analytical skills to diagnose complex conditions.
* Work with families and infants to address occupational needs, delivering interventions that support neuro‑development.
* Demonstrate expert observational, handling, and assessment skills for fragile early‑born infants.
* Develop and implement strategies with the multidisciplinary team to improve care for babies and families.
* Formulate individualised treatment plans and specialised programmes, liaising with health and social professionals.
* Perform frequent re‑assessment of long‑term care plans.
