Overview
Health Records Trainer/Supervisor role at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust (Stepping Hill Hospital). An exciting opportunity within the busy Health Records Department, providing an integrated Health Records service 365 days a year.
Note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Health and Care Worker visa route. Candidates should have the right to work in the UK.
Main duties of the job
* Provide full and comprehensive training for existing and new starters within the Health Records Department.
* Provide ongoing training, support and mentoring for staff across all aspects of the reception and clinic preparation processes.
* Undertake regular quality audits in line with departmental guidelines for the reception and clinic preparation processes and maintain audit activity to specified deadlines.
* Participate in other audits (including case note tracking and the Refer to Treatment process) as directed by the Management Team.
* Provide general supervision for the Health Records teams and supervisory support to the Health Records Management team when required to cover pressure periods and absence.
* Be flexible with start and finish times to support training requirements; be part of the on-call rota for Bank Holidays.
Person Specification
Essential
* Qualifications: Good general education – 5 GCSEs or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge: Knowledge of Health Records procedures; excellent customer service; Clinic Prep, Reception or Audit Quality experience.
* Experience: Familiarity with PAS; customer service experience.
* Skills & Abilities: Calm and reliable under pressure; ability to supervise a team; keyboard and IT skills; ability to multitask.
Desirable
* Awareness of Data Protection, Information Governance and standards for maintaining health records.
* Experience training staff.

Job Description and Responsibilities
Within this role you will work closely with the Training and Quality Assurance Manager to provide training, support and audit for new and existing members of the Health Records Clinic Prep & Reception Team who organise and provide all records functions within Health Records and Out Patients. This vacancy may require a Standard DBS check (£26.90) paid from the first Trust salary, and you will join the DBS update service (£16 annually).
