The Team
The Security Architecture and Engineering team plays a vital role in protecting the University's digital assets. We collaborate across faculties, projects, and support services to design and implement secure technology solutions, aiming to enable innovation while maintaining security and resilience against cyber threats.
The Role
We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to help design, implement, and maintain secure systems and services across the University. The role involves working closely with cyber security architects, project teams, and IT professionals to define technical controls and validate security solutions, ensuring technologies are "secure by design." This position offers a chance to influence the University's approach to cyber risk management and support digital transformation in research, teaching, and support services.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have experience delivering cyber security solutions in complex environments, with a solid understanding of security fundamentals. Hands-on experience securing cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and AWS, and applying security controls across platforms such as M365, is essential. Knowledge of secure identity and access management, cloud-native threat detection tools, container security, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevSecOps practices is highly desirable. A collaborative mindset, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous learning are important.
