The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital part in helping students overcome challenges and reach their potential — academically, socially, and emotionally.
Your key responsibilities will include:
 1. Specialised Support – Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet individual needs.
 2. Progress Monitoring – Track and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
 3. Emotional Guidance – Foster a calm, safe, and structured environment that supports emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
 4. Team Collaboration – Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals for a holistic approach to care.
 5. Promoting Inclusion – Encourage social development and a sense of belonging within the school community.

Requirements
 * Previous experience supporting students with SEMH and/or Autism (ASD)
 * Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people
 * Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, proactive attitude
 * Ability to adapt and collaborate effectively within a team
 * Experience implementing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) or working in 1:1 and small-group settings is highly desirable
