Description This is an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineering Degree Apprentice to continue to be supported through the Cormac apprentice programme. Whilst working for Cormac you will gain a level 6 degree qualification and experience throughout the business, whilst on planned rotation across the Cormac business and working towards an Incorporated Engineer role and will be expected to complete successfully an End Point Assessment and professional review with the Institution of Civil Engineers at the end of your 5-year apprenticeship, gaining the use of the I Eng post nominals. Duties include (but are not limited to): Complete the Civil Engineer Degree Apprenticeship, maintaining regular attendance and achievement levels Maintain your own continuing professional development Support the consultation process for schemes and proposals, undertaking specialist technical activities associated with the delivery of the Service Working with Senior Engineers and project managers, and liaising with external clients Attending site meetings to review works and providing specialist technical advice and guidance Working with a team to complete specialist reports within agreed timescales Utilising appropriate information technology, computer aided design and geographic information services for your allocated work Please view the Role Profile We are looking for: An employee who is passionate about the design, build and improvement of Cornwall’s highways network, providing a safe travel route for the public, and other civil engineering projects then we want to hear from you! Eligible to drive in the UK: driving licence or provisional driving licence and ability to achieve full driving licence within the first 12 months, plus access to transport and a willingness to travel to sites not serviced by public transport Current or predicted 3x A-Levels/Level 3 at AAB / DDM or above Desirable: at least 1 A-Level/Level 3 in a Science or construction-related qualification 5 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including maths and English Our offer to you Salary: £20,202 per year Working Hours: 37 hours per week Contract Type: permanent, full time Location: You will be allocated to a site and permanent supervisor upon appointment.
