Overview
The Pipers Direct Sales Function provides the foundation for the Pipers brand's long-term profitable growth strategy. The Direct sales team is central to the brand's routes and continues to play an integral role in its ongoing success. This Field-Based New Business role is crucial to both short- and long-term business performance.
The passion of our New Business Development Executives for our brand and their drive to succeed help increase our customer base and product sales nationwide. This role involves acquiring new customers through self-generated opportunities, visiting potential sites, creating awareness, and driving distribution by presenting the brand and opening new accounts.
They achieve this by visiting pre-identified targets to sell the benefits of the Pipers brand, the Direct Delivery model, and its unique selling points. They think strategically to identify, prospect, and convert independent and regional group outlets within the out-of-home channel. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders ensures a first-class customer experience from day one and fosters long-term brand loyalty.
Responsibilities
1. Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly new business productivity measures.
2. Meet acquisition targets, order revenue goals, and retention objectives.
3. Identify, prospect, and convert independent and group prospects into customers.
4. Plan and organize time effectively to maximize results and efficiency.
5. Utilize CRM systems to record visits, customer interactions, and orders.
6. Manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
7. Negotiate and develop commercial trading agreements with key customers.
8. Work proactively with the Field Sales Manager and other stakeholders to ensure customer retention and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
9. Visit target locations to cold call and introduce Pipers crisps, highlighting the benefits of the Direct Delivery Model.
10. Monitor and communicate competitor and wholesale activity across departments as needed.
11. Attend trade shows to promote brand awareness and generate new opportunities.
12. Implement marketing initiatives and provide feedback on their effectiveness.
