Clinical Documentation Administrator

Hours: 16 hours per week. All MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working.

Patient Access has an exciting opportunity for one 16-hour Clinical Documentation Administrator to join the team on a secondment or fixed-term contract until 31st December. The successful applicant should have experience working in a medical or healthcare setting with knowledge of medical terminology. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.

Training on eCare and patient administration systems will be provided if needed. A typing speed of at least 60 words per minute is required. The candidate must demonstrate excellent organizational skills.

The role requires the ability to work well under pressure, maintaining professionalism and courtesy. Flexibility to adapt to changing departmental needs and a team-oriented approach are essential. The role involves working across all medical specialties as needed, with opportunities for remote work, which will be discussed during the interview.

Main duties of the job

* Develop a comprehensive understanding of all specialties supported by the Clinical Documentation team to ensure efficient multi-specialty clinical correspondence and data accuracy.
* Collaborate with Divisional administration teams, Consultants, and Transcription services to facilitate smooth patient communication and pathways.

Detailed job responsibilities include:

* Administer clinical correspondence, ensuring accuracy and proper formatting.
* Type and prepare clinical letters for multidisciplinary meetings, ensuring timely communication.
* Coordinate with clinicians and staff to follow up on actions from clinical correspondence.
* Assist clinicians with transcription and dictation queries.
* Process patient letters efficiently, adhering to policies and standards.
* Respond to queries from patients, GPs, and clinicians, maintaining data protection and customer service standards.
* Support issue resolution related to transcriptions.
* Monitor and manage worklists independently to meet deadlines.
* Participate in process improvements and manage workload effectively.
