We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Food Service Workers at the 48 Force Support Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) Lakenheath, United Kingdom.
What will be your primary role?
The primary purpose of this position is to exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate supervisors and workers of the Food Service section. The incumbent will participate in meetings and discussions regarding initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work. The incumbent will maintain balanced workloads by shifting assignments, workers, and other resources to achieve the most effective work operations. They will review and analyze work accomplishments, cost, and utilization of subordinates to evaluate work progress, control costs, and anticipate and avoid possible problems by recommending corrective action to superiors. The Liberty Wing also anchored NATO forces during Operations Deliberate Force and Allied Force. What are the Key Skills required for this role?
1. Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of food service, supervisory and personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/ Equal Employment Treatment.
2. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of the use and maintenance of cooking/serving equipment, precision measuring and/or other equipment common to food service.
4. Ability to read and interpret inventory reports, financial statements, production logs, diagrams and technical specifications.
5. Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
What are the conditions of employment for this role?
1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential.
3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period
4. Overtime may be required.
5. You may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
6. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
7. Your hours of work will be 39 hours per week on an as rostered schedule (this will be working any 5 days out of 7) where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies.
8. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate CAT B, valid driver's license may be required for the position.
