Prospero Teaching are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Tutors to support a growing number of young people in Emsworth and nearby areas who benefit from alternative provision and thrive in 1:1 learning environments.

Specialist Education SettingsMany of our young people have complex additional needs, including:
SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs
SEN (Special Educational Needs)
EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)
Anxiety
Risk of Permanent Exclusion (PEX)Each child referred to us typically requires between 2 to 15 hours of support per week, allowing us to offer both part-time and full-time opportunities based on current referrals.

As a Tutor, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons that meet the student's individual needs and interests
Support the young person in developing emotional regulation strategies
Foster a positive, supportive, and safe learning environment
Gradually build a strong rapport and encourage participation at the student's own pace
Work closely with parents/carers and other professionals as neededAbout you:
Have at least 1 year of experience working within UK schools
Are confident in planning and delivering creative, learner-centred sessions

Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
Trauma informed- desirableTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
