Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (Primary)

Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time (term-time only)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Sheffield. This role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access the curriculum, develop independence, and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language needs
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
* Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
* Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCO
* Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with SEND in a primary setting (preferred)
* A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
