Purpose of Role
We are seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager to join our Defence Business Unit in Camberley. This is a fantastic opportunity to support commercial delivery across key contracts, working closely with operational teams to ensure financial performance, compliance, and effective subcontractor management.
Job Description
As an Assistant Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial management of projects and contracts. You will assist in cost control, financial reporting, and subcontractor administration, ensuring all commercial activities are delivered in line with company procedures and client expectations.
This is a full-time, permanent role within a collaborative environment, offering the chance to build on your commercial expertise within a structured and supportive team.
Responsibilities
1. Support the commercial management of contracts, including cost tracking and financial reporting
2. Assist in the procurement and management of subcontractors
3. Monitor project costs, identify risks, and support mitigation strategies
4. Ensure compliance with commercial processes and company procedures
5. Work closely with operational teams to support contract delivery
6. Contribute to valuations, forecasting, and budget management
7. Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation
Essential Qualifications/Skills
8. Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management role
9. Strong understanding of subcontractor management and commercial processes
10. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis)
11. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
12. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners
13. High attention to detail and strong analytical capability
14. BPSS clearance (minimum requirement)
