Offer description

The three Partner Trusts have set an objective of creating a single procurement function to support the sustainable provision of clinical and non-clinical services.

A newly formed Humber & North Yorkshire Procurement Collaborative, hosted by Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, will provide procurement and supply chain services to its Partner Trusts and may extend to other bodies within the Integrated Care System.

You will work as a Trust Supply Chain Manager responsible for receipt, distribution, and materials management services at the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS FT sites, which include Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, Scunthorpe General Hospital, and Goole and District Hospital. You may be required to support and cover for other trusts as needed.

Main duties of the job

You will, through the agreed policies and procedures, provide technical and specialist advice for the supplies function across the Trust regarding stock ordering and stock management principles. You will manage staff and contractors to ensure a consistent and reliable materials management service across the Trust, including planning and coordinating workloads.

Working independently within policies and procedures, you will undertake a range of supply chain management activities and escalate concerns when necessary. You will advise users and budget holders on supply chain policies and procedures and undertake stock management for medium/high-value goods. You will manage the performance of 17 supply chain management operatives and support their development needs and aspirations.

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, serving over one million patients annually and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion. It comprises two Trusts: Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH). Our Partnership is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve. We employ nearly 20,000 staff across five main hospital sites, including Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital, and Goole and District Hospital, as well as Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we lead and contribute to research in areas such as biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery, and oncology.

We believe that developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled, and caring workforce enables us to deliver excellent patient care and secure a great future for our employees, Partnership, and community.
