Job Title: Senior Test Analyst

The Senior Test Analyst is responsible for creating test cases based on in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications (such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability, and portability). They develop traceability records linking test cases back to requirements, produce automated and manual test scripts, materials, and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services.
The Senior TAs specify requirements for environment, data, resources, and tools. They interpret, execute, and document complex test scripts using established methods and standards. They record and analyze actions and results, maintain a defect register, review test results, and modify tests as necessary. They also provide reports on progress, anomalies, risks, and issues related to the project, including system quality metrics and test case metrics. The role includes providing specialist advice, reviewing requirements and specifications, defining test conditions, mentoring TAs and Trainee TAs, and deputizing for the Lead Test Analyst.
About the role
1. Analyze functional and non-functional specifications to determine test requirements.
2. Experience with automated test tools.
3. Identify gaps in information and resolve them.
4. Specify requirements for environment, data, resources, and tools.
5. Conduct validation and verification early in the lifecycle, and plan, estimate, and schedule tests.
6. Design and produce reusable test scripts, procedures, and regression test packs.
7. Interpret and execute complex test scripts using standard methods.
8. Monitor progress, document results, and maintain traceability records.
9. Use diagnostic tools and documentation to identify and report system errors.
10. Review test results, modify tests if needed, and produce quality reports.
11. Guide colleagues on test planning and execution.
12. Review and test non-functional aspects at a high level.
13. Prioritize tasks and guide team members towards milestones.
14. Mentor TAs and Trainee TAs.
15. Deputize for the Lead Test Analyst.
16. Maintain knowledge of specialisms and execute specialized tasks.
About you
1. Identify gaps in information; some experience with automated testing tools.
2. Scripting experience with Cucumber/WebDriver IO, Playwright, Postman, or ReadyAPI.
3. Break down problems systematically and select appropriate methods to resolve them.
4. Influence where automation adds value.
5. Familiar with testing techniques across application components.
6. Knowledge of testing tools across the testing lifecycle.
7. Experience benefiting the test team with applications, processes, or products.
8. Specialist knowledge in business functions, technology, or automation tools.
