About The Role
Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, together with the Local Monitoring Committee of Trewirgie Infants’ School are seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team as a Student Welfare Officer and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about children’s wellbeing, safeguarding, and inclusion, and who thrives in a role that makes a real difference every single day.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to ensure the highest standards of safeguarding practice.
* Provide pastoral care and emotional support for children and families, helping to remove barriers to learning.
* Support with attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing initiatives across the school.
* Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and outside agencies to ensure effective support.
* Supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher, maintaining a calm and positive learning environment.
This role can be done alongside our currently advertised Cover Supervisor role. If applying for both roles, please indicate on your application form.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their holistic development.
* Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Has experience in a pastoral or safeguarding role (school-based experience desirable).
* Understands the importance of confidentiality, professionalism, and teamwork.
* Is reflective and committed to ongoing professional growth.
