Support Pupils in a Leading Specialist School in Shropshire
We’re partnering with a respected specialist school in Shropshire that supports around 400 students aged 2–19, with a wide range of complex needs including moderate learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning disabilities, autism, physical challenges, and communication difficulties.
As part of a multi-academy trust, the school delivers a carefully personalised curriculum and a dedicated sixth form, designed to match each pupil’s developmental stage and encourage active engagement and learning.
The Role
Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to EHCPs and individual learning plans
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and care staff to deliver structured, pathway-based learning
Assist with communication, sensory and mobility needs, personal care, and the use of specialist equipment
Job alert service
Help maintain a safe and orderly environment, supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting children or young people in specialist or high-needs settings
A calm, professional attitude with a methodical approach to routine and structure
Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across disciplines
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
Familiarity with PECS, Makaton, sensory strategies, or similar approaches
Training in moving and handling, Team Teach, or behaviour management protocols
Experience supporting pupils with medical or physical needs
