Overview
RREMS Clinical Technologists undertake engineering modifications to wheelchairs, specify and provide powered wheelchairs, and provide the technical, biomechanical and safety input to multidisciplinary wheelchair service teams. The service also works closely with the Approved Wheelchair Repair Contractor.
Responsibilities
* Interview Date: Tuesday 7th April 2026
* 37 hours 30 minutes per week
* Work independently, or as part of multidisciplinary teams, providing specialist engineering services and technical knowledge enabling patient care
* Undertake engineering modifications to wheelchairs
* Specify and provide powered wheelchairs
* Provide technical, biomechanical and safety input to multidisciplinary wheelchair service teams
* Collaborate with the Approved Wheelchair Repair Contractor
* Support flexible working arrangements where possible
Qualifications
* Applications are invited from candidates with a degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in an appropriate discipline
* Demonstrable relevant experience having completed a recognised engineering or technical apprenticeship or training course
* Post holder will be required to enrol onto the IPEM Clinical Technologist Training Scheme, which will result in professional registration as a Clinical Technologist with RCT or AHCS
