About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing commissioning team as a Commissioning Officer (Service Development) within Adult Social Care at Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. You will support the commissioning of services aligned with the strategic direction of both Councils to help keep people as independent as possible in their own homes and communities. The role involves developing services within the Learning Disability Portfolio, and contributing to needs analysis, commissioning, market testing, and review of services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contribute to the commissioning of services to meet local social care needs.
2. Gather information and act as a source of advice on specific areas, as agreed with the Commissioning Manager.
3. Work with strategic health and social care planning, quality assurance, contract monitoring, business intelligence, and operational colleagues to develop plans for service improvement and development.
4. Engage with service users, carers, and providers for consultation and co-production to inform commissioning.
5. Maintain thorough and accurate records, prepare agendas, take minutes, record actions, and liaise with stakeholders.
6. Assist in reviewing commissioned services, including report writing and preparing governance documentation.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Degree-level education or equivalent and relevant experience.
* Understanding of NHS, Local Authority, and Voluntary Sector collaboration.
* Knowledge of adult social care policies and legislation.
* Experience in writing high-quality reports.
* Ability to manage workload effectively amidst competing priorities.
Additional Details
* Location: Hybrid working, attending the office at least once a week and as needed.
* Employment Type: Permanent or 2-year secondment, full-time.
