South West London Pathology (SWLP) is a partnership of four NHS trusts that provides a single integrated diagnostic pathology service for hospitals and GPs across South West London.
A full‑time HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist is required for the Haematology & Blood Transfusion departments at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals under SWLP.
The role is 37.5 hours per week, primarily based at St Helier Hospital with the possibility of rotation across other SWLP sites. The successful candidate will work a 24/7 shift pattern including nights, weekends, bank holidays and late shifts.
Key responsibilities include supporting routine Haematology and Haemostasis screening, Blood Transfusion services and receiving full training in all sections of the Haematology laboratory. The position offers opportunities to work in specialised esoteric testing such as morphology and haemoglobinopathy on a rotational basis.
The laboratory utilises Immucor Neo Iris, Beckman Coulter DxH900 series, ACL Top and Alifax analysers, with additional experience on Sebia analysers in the haemoglobinopathy section.
Applicants must be HCPC‑registered Biomedical Scientists with suitable qualifications and be motivated to develop within a busy UKAS‑Accredited pathology department.
