*About the Role:*
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Support Worker to provide encouragement, support and personal care for an adult male with Down's Syndrome. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting independence, well-being, and social inclusion for individuals with learning disabilities. This role requires dedication, patience, and understanding.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Provide high-quality personal care, including assistance with daily living tasks, such as bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming.
* Encourage and support the individual to remain active and engaged in their community, promoting physical and mental well-being.
* Maintain a safe and comfortable domestic environment, including light housekeeping and laundry tasks.
* Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, taking into account dietary requirements and preferences.
* Administer medication as prescribed, following strict guidelines and protocols.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive environment, promoting independence and self-esteem.
-Transport him to appointments and social activities as required.
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the individual, their family, and other support networks.
*Requirements:*
* Experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities, ideally Down's Syndrome.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work flexibly, including sleep-ins and/ or day shifts.
* Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect individual's rights and dignity.
* Valid driving license and access to a car insured for business purposes.
*Desirable Qualifications:*
* DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo).
* First Aid training (or willingness to undertake).
* Experience with medication administration ( or willingness to undertake training).
