Brown Brothers in Kirkconnel are currently looking for full-time Food Operatives. The hours of work are 1.55pm - 9.55pm Monday to Friday. The rate of pay, if over 18, is £12.60 an hour.
Previous experience is not required as successful candidates will receive full training.
Job Purpose
To assist the Management team in the safe and effective day to day running of the Butchery Department. Ensuring the team work to existing hourly targets whilst producing to agreed specifications and within expected yields
Responsibilities
Health & Safety:
* To ensure Company Health & Safety policy and procedure is always adhered to by all in the department.
Staff Supervision:
* To motivate team and maintain working relationships and highlight any issues to the wider Management team.
* To lead by example.
* To ensure the staffing on the line is optimised to run as efficiently as possible.
* To ensure the team work to their start and end time, highlighting any issues to the wider management team.
Efficiencies:
* To maximise production throughput and ensure there is a focus on yield at all times.
Hygiene:
* To encourage a 'clean as you go' policy within the department at all times possible.
Wastage:
* To minimise waste across the department and ensure any waste is recorded and disposed of according to the departmental procedures
Quality Control:
* To ensure any non-conforming product is brought to the attention of the wider Management team
* To ensure all food safety and quality standards are met adhering to Company standards.
Planning:
* To ensure the daily plan is followed and to think ahead to highlight any potential issues to the wider management team.
Associated Paperwork:
* To ensure all paperwork is filled out correctly including; start up sheets, batch details, yield and efficiencies.
Interdepartmental:
* To communicate in a professional manner with other departments such as Goods in, Planning, Technical and Processing, drawing on a daily basis as needed.
Hours of Work:
6.00am - 2.00pm Monday to Friday
Wage Details:
Ranging from £12.85 to £14.35 depending on butchery experience
