Deputy Service Director – Practice, Standards and Principal Social Worker

About the role
Provides strong, effective, creative and positive leadership and holds the Principal Social Worker statutory responsibilities on behalf of the Council. Other key responsibilities include statutory independent review for children, Local Authority Designated Officer functions, family group decision making and contribution to the improvement plan and partnership outcomes.
Key responsibilities
* Provide strong, effective, creative and positive leadership across the partnership.
* Hold statutory responsibilities for the Principal Social Worker.
* Oversee statutory independent review for children and Local Authority Designated Officer functions.
* Ensure best practice in family group decision making.
* Contribute to the improvement plan, Council Plan and partnership outcomes.
* Lead on social work recruitment and training/development of a skilled permanent children’s workforce.
Qualifications & experience
* Proven system leader across the children and families system.
* Experience in driving improvement and delivering meaningful change.
* Strong commitment to the "Our Children Our Future" agenda.
* Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
