Overview

We are recruiting a Taught Course Co-ordinator and Administrator in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Cambridge. This is a new position in the postgraduate education administration team. The Course Co-ordinator will manage all aspects of the new Master's MPhil in Brain Health and Disease: Clinical Neurosciences and will help to develop the standard operating procedures for running taught courses in the department. They will also develop the structures for ensuring quality in teaching and learning delivery with the student experience at the heart of the work. They will be in charge of project managing key course activities:

* ensuring that all necessary student feedback is provided in a timely fashion
* lectures/tutorials take place according to the timetable
* contacting and paying all lecturers
* examinations and marking are conducted in line with University Policies
* making room bookings
* collating marks for exam boards and seeking and collating student feedback for consideration for curriculum development
* First point of contact for all enquiries from students and applicants. Processing applications in CamSIS and keeping student records up to date.

The post will work closely with the Course Director and Research and Teaching Managers. The post will provide crucial administration required for the operational day-to-day running of the MPhil course. There are expected to be between 18 and 24 students in one academic year and the course intake will begin in October 2026.

The Course Co-ordinator will be the first port of call for all administrative matters including financial administration (e.g. monitoring expenditure and reporting), maintaining the website and list of lectures and project supervisors (together with Teaching and Research Managers), and liaising between academics teaching and supervising research projects on the course. In the first year, the role will be primarily focussed on setting up the course, coordinating with teaching staff and supervisors, ensuring compliance with all relevant School and University-level regulations, managing prospective student queries, as well as the admissions process for the inaugural cohort of students. From the second year onwards, the role will also have a student-facing component, disseminating course information and handling programme enquiries on a regular basis, as well as managing formal administration including admissions, examinations and results.

The successful applicant will possess excellent organisational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, alongside the ability to effectively prioritise conflicting demands and have good communication skills and work well in a team. Attention to detail is essential as well as working to strict deadlines during busy periods.

This is a great opportunity for an individual, with appropriate administrative experience, to develop their project management skills while aiding the provision and development of high quality postgraduate education.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
