The Terminal Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and optimal performance of the Marine Terminal, meeting safety and operational targets of the Marine Segment.
Location: Falmouth Marine Terminal
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the Marine Terminal to deliver safe, reliable, and legally compliant performance.
2. Oversee Terminal Operations staff.
3. Monitor and manage Marine Terminal GPO budgets.
4. Collaborate with Marine Commercial and other partners to implement the commercial strategy, ensuring terminal readiness.
5. Develop and implement plans for continuous improvement and future performance.
6. Ensure safe operation of the Marine Terminal in compliance with legal and WFS standards.
7. Maintain regulatory compliance to uphold the 'licence to operate', developing plans to meet and surpass requirements.
8. Ensure operational availability to meet business needs.
9. Manage Opex and Capex budgets effectively.
10. Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans.
Experience:
1. Proven management experience in oil terminal operations or fuel storage and delivery management.
2. Experience overseeing maintenance and inspection of fuel systems.
3. Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
4. Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and experience implementing HSE practices.
5. Budget management and analytical skills.
6. Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
7. Willingness to work in shifts and manage physical operations.
8. Desirable: Mechanical Engineering background and professional qualifications in HSE or fuel quality assurance.
Background and Skills:
1. Strong supervisory and team management skills.
2. Experience controlling work schedules and mentoring teams.
3. Numerate with ability to calculate percentage blends.
4. Comfortable working at heights above 16 meters.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Desirable: Experience in ship-to-shore operations and understanding of engineering principles.
