2391 Electrician (Test & Inspect Engineer)
Location: HMP Rochester | ME1
Salary: £43,177.30
Contract: Full Time | Permanent
We are seeking a dedicated Test and Inspect Engineer to join our team at HMP Rochester, a CATEGORY C/YOI & Male prison.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of the Facilities Maintenance Team to support the safe and secure operation of HMP Rochester.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners, administrators) to deliver maintenance and inspection services.
* Carry out electrical testing and inspection activities in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
* Contribute to a positive environment focused on rehabilitation, safety, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* At least five years experience working as an electrician
* Two years experience in a role as a test and inspection electrician or equivalent
* Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems and catering equipment
* Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
* Strong communication skills
* Basic IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word
* Experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines
* C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation)
* C&G 2391 - Electrical inspection and testing
* NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
* 18th Edition
* Good Health & Safety knowledge
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
