Job title : STABILITY SECTION LEADER Work place : BLACKFORD DOLPHIN We are currently looking for a highly experienced Stability Section Leader to join our semi-submersible drilling unit the Blackford Dolphin, which is currently operational in Nigeria. Reporting directly to the Offshore Installation Manager the role is permanent and the successful candidate will manage and supervise all deck and stability operations at night: Role Requirements: Have experience in a Stability Section Leader role. Have experience working on a Semi Submersible. Clearly act as part of support to the Dolphin offshore management team, to support and implement management decisions to provide a safe place of work while promoting safe working practices. Ensure safe compliance with all Dolphin Drilling Ltd policies, procedures, STOPs and contractual requirements as appropriate. Ensure safe and efficient compliance with all safety regulations, codes and industry practice, ACOP, and relevant guidance. Communicate and demonstrate that safety is a line management responsibility, act as the vessel Safety Officer co-ordinating HS&E activity onboard. Ensure close communication between OIM and shorebase HSEQ support. Ensure timely completion of performance appraisals and effective administration of the disciplinary procedure. Ensure that all marine and related operations are executed within the parameters established by regulatory authority, local maritime regulations, operator and Dolphin Drilling Ltd Policies, Procedures and Manuals. Ensure that stability calculations are performed, this includes calculating daily variable deck loads, transfer of deck loads, bulk chemicals and also adverse weather/storm contingency procedures. Monitor structural deck loads ensuring they do not exceed the maximum permissible weights. Maintain communications with other departments regarding work priorities and operational requirements. Carry out all tasks that are reasonably expected as delegated by the OIM and Unit Manager. Implement and action the Marine Planned Maintenance System. Be familiar with the contents of the HS&E Case and the Dolphin Safety Management System. Ensure that a fully comprehensive handover is given to the relief Stability Section Leader. Ensure that there is a full and comprehensive written handover of all night time activities to the OIM. Actively co-ordinate and participate as required in emergency response and drills. Participate fully as a member of an Emergency Response Team as required. Qualification Requirements: Offshore Survival Training including HUET EBS and CA-EBS. STCW Master Mariner (II/2) Certificate of Competency. ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display Info System). GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress Safety System). OPEP Level 1 Training - Offshore On Scene Commander. STCW - Ship Security Officer A-VI/5.
