Role and responsibilities
* Responsible for building test rigs, using their skills to fit mechanical components. Reading engineering drawings to work out build schedules and identify material requirements.
* Providing machining, and engineering fitting services to areas within the business.
* Using their skills to improve the machining, fabrication, and fitting times within the business.
* Supply information to Engineers for bid preparation.
* Supporting the Facilities Team in building maintenance and improvement.
* Being actively involved in continuous Improvement activities.
* Assisting Project Engineers with technical issues and solving problems on test rigs.
* Assisting Apprentices in their development.
Profile
To be considered, we require the following qualifications, skills and experience:
* The candidate is likely to have undergone a Time Served Apprenticeship in either Mechanical Fitting, Machining, or fabrication.
* Has at least 5 years’ experience after being an apprentice in a maintenance or technical production type role.
* Good fitting skills.
* Is computer literate.
* Works well in a team and has good communication skills.
* It would be beneficial if the candidate has undergone further training in Safety, Forklift Truck driving, Rigging and/or Encloses Spaces.
