Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for promoting, delivering, and facilitating various programmes directed by management as part of the School-Aged Immunisation Service, assisting nurses in schools or offices.
Main duties of the job
1. Assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of health promotion/education and public health school-age immunisation programmes.
2. Promote and facilitate collaborative working between the team, schools, other educational institutions, and families in delivering the immunisation programme.
3. Ensure proper storage and transportation of immunisations, including procedures for collecting and delivering vaccinations to the site.
4. Assist in identifying home-schooled children and those in Pupil Referral Units.
5. Maintain databases to keep records up to date and prepare documents for school visits.
6. Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures for School Immunisation (SOPs).
7. Serve as the first point of contact for administrative tasks.
8. Maintain the cold chain, order supplies, and arrange transport of vaccinations to the site.
9. Contribute actively and constructively to team meetings.
10. Undertake other duties appropriate to the level of the position.
11. Comply with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Essential:
* GCSEs or equivalent with a minimum of grade C in English and Maths.
* Ability to prioritize and manage workload independently.
* Assertive, team player, and critical thinker.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent IT skills.
* Driving license (desirable).
* Strong organizational skills.
Desirable:
* Experience working in community settings, such as schools, and/or with children and young people.
