The Role
We are currently recruiting an experienced Bench Fitter / Assembler to support HVAC component maintenance activities. Working in accordance with Vehicle Maintenance Instructions (VMI), the successful candidate will be responsible for the strip-down, refurbishment, reassembly, and testing of train HVAC fan units.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strip, clean, and overhaul train HVAC fan units
* Complete detailed disassembly to component level in line with VMI
* Clean, inspect, and measure sacrificial components
* Ensure parts availability to support efficient reassembly
* Reassemble and functionally test completed units
* Update stock and inventory records via the Stores system
* Accurately complete all required documentation
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and tool control
* Report tooling, parts, or process issues to the Supervisor
* Work in full compliance with Health & Safety requirements

Candidate Profile
To be considered, candidates should meet the following criteria:
* NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
* Previous experience in bench fitting and/or mechanical assembly
* Background in Rail, Automotive, Aerospace, Defence, or similar engineering environments
* Able to commute within one hour of Crawley
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
* Physically fit, as the workshop spans approximately 300 metres
