Overview
The role is for a research assistant working with Professor Christopher Hunter in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge. The assistant will contribute to a multidisciplinary team developing new approaches to template synthesis, combining expertise in supramolecular chemistry, organic synthesis, polymer chemistry and computational chemistry.
Responsibilities
* Synthesis of oligomeric template building blocks and templates
* Characterisation of three‑dimensional structures of adducts
* Reaction optimisation of template processes
* Kinetic and mechanistic analysis of reaction pathways
* Preparation of oral presentations, internal reports and draft publications
Qualifications
* MSc or equivalent qualification in chemistry (or expected to obtain)
* Experience in organic synthesis, supramolecular chemistry and physical organic chemistry
* Strong communication skills
