About the role
This is a new position at the recently opened canteen at Booker Distribution Fareham.
Previous experience working in a kitchen is required.
Working within a small team of catering assistants, you will provide hot and cold food services to colleagues and ensure the canteen area remains clean and tidy.
Responsibilities
* Ordering stock for food preparation and vending machines.
* Supporting stock management and control.
* Checking stock quality and codes.
* Preparing food in compliance with food hygiene regulations.
* Replenishing and managing vending machines, including price changes, cleaning, and cash collection.
* Supporting hospitality services.
* Maintaining cleanliness of the canteen, kitchen facilities, dining area, and counters.
* Adhering to food hygiene, HACCP, allergen, and COSHH guidelines.
* Monitoring temperature controls and expiry dates.
Requirements
* Cooking experience is essential.
* Food hygiene & safety Level 2 certification.
* Allergen training certification.
* Food handling qualification.
* Excellent customer service skills, friendly personality, and team-oriented approach.
* High standards of presentation and ability to serve a varied menu to colleagues and visitors.
